MEET RACHEL

Director, Connection & Community

Rachel is a Pittsburgh native who knows firsthand the peaks and hurdles that can come with maintaining social health. As her adolescent years came to a close, she yearned to explore a new city and shipped up to Boston for college; then a few life changes struck a homesick chord that drove her to move back to Pittsburgh after graduating. She reveled in the idea of experiencing her home city with a fresh perspective, newfound appreciation for the things she missed, and the opportunity to discover new facets to fall in love with.

But over the years, finding a community to share those experiences with required her to step out of her comfort zone and overcome quite a few challenges as someone who was not new to Pittsburgh in some ways, yet somewhat new in others.

As part of the Pittsburgh Social Health team, Rachel strives to ensure that anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation doesn’t face the same obstacles. She’s passionate about playing her part in cultivating experiences where residents of this ever-evolving city feel welcome and motivated to find their people through the building blocks of meaningful connection. She is a firm believer that everyone deserves to feel connected and capable of conquering their longing to belong!

When she’s not busy working in Human Resources or catering to the every whim of her divalicious feline fur child Waffle, Rachel finds joy in exercising, live music, exploring different neighborhoods, reading, art gallery crawls, a good yap session, and her most beloved niche hobbies, nail art and homemade smoothie bowls!
